I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Court Security Act 2017 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Court Security Regulations 2018 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which the Court Security Act 2017 commences.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations –
Act means the Court Security Act 2017 .

4.   Meaning of tribunal

For the purposes of the definition of tribunal in the Act, the following tribunals and bodies are prescribed to be a tribunal for the purposes of the Act:

5.   Possession of prohibited objects

For the purposes of section 10(2)(e) of the Act, a person may have possession of a prohibited object on court premises, or bring a prohibited object on to court premises, in the circumstances where –
(a) the prohibited object is a controlled substance; and
(b) the person in possession of the controlled substance is authorised, under any Act, to be in possession of the controlled substance.
