Appropriation (Further Supplementary Appropriation for 2022-23) Act 2023

An Act for the appropriation of $340 543 000 out of the Public Account for the services of the Government for the financial year ending on 30 June 2023

Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1.   Short title

This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (Further Supplementary Appropriation for 2022-23) Act 2023 .

2.   Commencement

This Act is taken to have commenced on 1 July 2022.

3.   Interpretation

For the purposes of this Act –
Capital Services means –
(a) public works or property required for public purposes; or
(b) a loan authorised by law;
Operating Services means the ordinary annual services of the Government.

4.   Issue, application and appropriation of $340 543 000

(1)  In respect of the financial year ending on 30 June 2023, the Treasurer may –
(a) issue the sum of $340 543 000 out of the Public Account; and
(b) apply that sum for the services of the Government.
(2)  The sum specified in subsection (1)(a) is appropriated.

5.   Purposes of appropriation

The sum specified in section 4(1)(a) is to be applied for the purposes specified in Schedule 1 and detailed in either of the following:
(a) the agency information in support of the estimates for the financial year ending on 30 June 2023;
(b) the information tabled by the Minister in support of Schedule 1 .

6.   Expiry of Act

This Act expires on 30 June 2024.
