Public Health (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2022

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Public Health Act 1997 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Public Health (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2022 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 2 May 2022.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations –
Act means the Public Health Act 1997 .

4.   Infringement notice offences

For the purposes of section 169 of the Act –
(a) an offence against a provision of the Act that is specified in the table in Schedule 1 is a prescribed offence; and
(b) the penalty specified in that table in relation to a prescribed offence is the penalty payable in respect of an infringement notice for the offence.
