Repeal of Regulations Postponement Act (No. 2) 2013

An Act to postpone the repeal of certain regulations

[Royal Assent 8 October 2013]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1.   Short title

This Act may be cited as the Repeal of Regulations Postponement Act (No. 2) 2013 .

2.   Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

3.   Postponement of repeals

(1)  The staged repeal of the Surveyors Regulations 2003 that, but for this section, was to have been effected on 26 November 2013 is postponed until 26 November 2014.
(2)  The staged repeal of the Animal (Brands and Movement) Regulations 2003 that, but for this section, was to have been effected on 10 December 2013 is postponed until 10 December 2014.
(3)  Subsection (1) does not prevent the regulations specified in that subsection from being rescinded before 26 November 2014.
(4)  Subsection (2) does not prevent the regulations specified in that subsection from being rescinded before 10 December 2014.
(5)  In this section –
staged repeal means the repeal that was to be effected by section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 .

4.   Administration of Act

Until provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990  –
(a) the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Primary Industries and Water; and
(b) the department responsible to that Minister in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.

5.   Expiry

This Act expires on 11 December 2014.
