Public Health (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2012

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Public Health Act 1997 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Public Health (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2012 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations –
Act means the Public Health Act 1997 .

4.   Infringement notice offences

For the purposes of section 169 of the Act –
(a) a prescribed offence is an offence against a provision of the Act specified in column 2 of the table in Schedule 1 ; and
(b) the penalty specified in column 3 of that table in relation to a prescribed offence is the penalty applicable to that offence.

5.   Legislation rescinded

The legislation specified in Schedule 2 is rescinded.
