Litter (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2007

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Litter Act 2007 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Litter (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2007 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 26 December 2007.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations –
Act means the Litter Act 2007 .

4.   Infringement offences and penalties

(1)  For the purposes of the definition of "infringement offence" in section 17(1) of the Act, an offence under a section of the Act specified in Schedule 1 is prescribed to be an infringement offence.
(2)  The relevant penalty specified in Schedule 1 in respect of an infringement offence specified in that Schedule is the penalty applicable to that infringement offence and payable under the infringement notice by a natural person or a body corporate.
