Forensic Procedures Regulations 2001

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Forensic Procedures Act 2000 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Forensic Procedures Regulations 2001 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations,

Act means the Forensic Procedures Act 2000 .

4.   Corresponding laws

For the purposes of the definition of "corresponding law" in section 3(1) of the Act, the following laws are prescribed as corresponding laws:

(a) Crimes (Forensic Procedures) Act 2000 of New South Wales;

(d) [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2003, No. 9, Applied:05 Mar 2003] [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2003, No. 86, Applied:06 Aug 2003] Criminal Investigation (Identifying People) Act 2002 of Western Australia;

(e) [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2003, No. 86, Applied:06 Aug 2003] [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2007, No. 69, Applied:15 Aug 2007] Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Act 2007 of South Australia;

(f) [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2003, No. 86, Applied:06 Aug 2003] Part 1D of the Crimes Act 1914 of the Commonwealth;

(g) [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2003, No. 86, Applied:06 Aug 2003] [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2004, No. 24, Applied:05 May 2004] [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2007, No. 69, Applied:15 Aug 2007] Chapter 17 of the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 of Queensland;

(h) [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2003, No. 86, Applied:06 Aug 2003] sections 5 and 95B of the Prisons (Correctional Services) Act of the Northern Territory;

(i) [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2003, No. 86, Applied:06 Aug 2003] section 4 and Division 7 of Part VII of the Police Administration Act of the Northern Territory;

(j) [Regulation 4 Amended by S.R. 2003, No. 86, Applied:06 Aug 2003] sections 3, 31, 31A, 31B, 51 and 70B of the Juvenile Justice Act of the Northern Territory.
