Mineral Resources Development (Exemption) Order 1998

I make the following order under section 5(4) of the Mineral Resources Development Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Mineral Resources Development (Exemption) Order 1998 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Land and minerals exempt from the Mineral Resources Development Act 1995

The land specified in Schedule 1 to this order is exempt from the Mineral Resources Development Act 1995 in respect of sand.

SCHEDULE 1 - Exempt area

All that area of land in the land districts of Cumberland, Somerset, Monmouth, Pembroke, Arthur, Buckingham and Kent comprising about 1 110 square kilometres shown bounded by a heavy black line on Plan No. 4142 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Schedule 2 to this order.
