Universities Registration Regulations 1996
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Universities Registration Act 1995 .

These regulations may be cited as the Universities Registration Regulations 1996 .
These regulations take effect on 1 February 1996.
In these regulations,Act means the Universities Registration Act 1995 .
An application by an institution for registration as a university is to be lodged with the Council within 6 months before the intended date of commencing operation as a university.
5. Determination of application
The Council must determine an application for registration as a university within 3 months after the lodgment of the application.
6. Non-application of provision of Act
Section 22 of the Act does not apply to the institution known as the University of Third Age Inc..
The fees specified in Schedule 1 are payable in respect of the matters specified in that Schedule.
