Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Amendment Regulations 2015
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Act 1970 .

These regulations may be cited as the Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Amendment Regulations 2015 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Regulations 2009 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)
Regulation 3(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting the definition of Alcotest 7110 .
5. Regulation 5 amended (Duties of supervising analyst in relation to breath analysing instrument)
Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "an Alcotest 7110" and substituting "a breath analysing instrument".
6. Regulation 6 amended (Testing and use of breath analysing instrument)
Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting from subregulation (1) "an Alcotest 7110" and substituting "a breath analysing instrument";(b) by omitting from subregulation (2) "an Alcotest 7110" and substituting "a breath analysing instrument";(c) by omitting from subregulation (3) "an Alcotest 7110" and substituting "a breath analysing instrument";(d) by omitting from subregulation (3) "6 months" and substituting "12 months".
7. Regulation 7 amended (Duties of approved operators in relation to breath analysing instrument)
Regulation 7(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting "an Alcotest 7110" and substituting "a breath analysing instrument";(b) by omitting from paragraph (e) "Alcotest 7110".
8. Regulation 9 amended (Record to be maintained by approved operators)
Regulation 9(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "an Alcotest 7110" from the definition of record and substituting "a breath analysing instrument".
9. Schedule 1 amended (Forms)
Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting Form 1 and substituting:Form 1

These regulations are administered in the Department of Police and Emergency Management.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Regulations 2009 by (a) removing the references to a specific breath analysing instrument to enable the regulations to apply to all breath analysing instruments; and(b) extending the period between tests of breath analysing instruments to 12 months.
