EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations amend the Passenger Transport Services Regulations 2023 by –(a) providing for the use of contactless payment methods to pay fares in respect of regular passenger services; and(b) specifying the obligation of a passenger, in certain circumstances, to scan on and off during a journey on a regular passenger service; and(c) providing for the use of revenue protection devices by authorised officers in respect of fare evasion; and(d) updating the list of infringement notice offences.
