EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations –(a) prescribe, for the purposes of the Animal Welfare Act 1993 –(i) certain requirements for ensuring the welfare of animals generally; and(ii) matters relating to a Code of Practice for rodeos; and(iii) fees payable by certain institutions for an application to carry out animal research; and(b) rescind the Animal Welfare (General) Regulations 2023 which were rendered void, under section 47(3A) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1931 , due to an inadvertently invalid commencement provision.
