EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations –(a) prescribe certain craft as vessels for the purposes of the Marine and Safety Authority Act 1997; and(b) provide for the wearing of approved personal flotation devices by persons on certain craft and by persons being towed by motor boats; and(c) prescribe mandatory safety equipment to be carried on lightweight craft; and(d) contain provisions relating to operating vessels at safe speeds and operating vessels in designated waters; and(e) provide for the wearing of life jackets on certain vessels and the maintenance of those life jackets; and(f) prescribe offences in respect of which infringement notices may be issued; and(g) rescind the Marine and Safety (General) Regulations 2013.
