EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations, which replace the Legal Profession Regulations 2008 , prescribe a range of matters for the purposes of the Legal Profession Act 2007 , including –

(a) matters relating to entitlement to practise; and

(b) matters relating to professional conduct; and

(c) practising certificate fees; and

(d) matters relating to the handling of trust money and the keeping of trust accounts and records; and

(e) matters relating to the disclosure of costs to clients and the assessment of costs; and

(f) Solicitors' Trust protocols; and

(g) forms.
