EXPLANATORY NOTE

This order –(a) declares optometrists, podiatric surgeons and podiatrists to be authorised health professionals for the purposes of the Poisons Act 1971 ; and(b) declares the Optometry Board of Australia to be an authorised body for optometrists; and(c) declares the Podiatry Board of Australia to be an authorised body for podiatric surgeons and podiatrists; and(d) authorises optometrists, podiatric surgeons and podiatrists to possess, sell, supply and prescribe certain scheduled substances in certain circumstances; and(e) is in effect for a period of 6 months.
