EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations, made under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 , provide for –(a) the regulation of the emission of certain noises caused by the operation of domestic and industrial equipment and machines; and(b) in particular, the regulation of noise caused by –(i) the operation of motor vehicles, motor vessels and machinery near residential premises; and(ii) the operation of chainsaws, lawnmowers and fixed equipment; and(iii) the operation of motor vehicles and motor vessels at racing events, aquatic events and recreational activities; and(c) certain offences to be offences for which an infringement notice may be issued and served.
