EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations amend the Poisons Regulations 2008 by adding –(a) narcotic substances to the list of substances that a medical practitioner must not issue a prescription for, or supply to a patient, without the authority of the Secretary; and(b) restricted substances to the list of substances that are specified psychotropic substances for the purposes of section 38(1)(b) of the Poisons Act 1971 .
