Food Regulations 2012

These regulations are administered in the Department of Health and Human Services.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

(a) incorporate the Food Standards Code for the purposes of the Food Act 2003 , with the exception of Standard 3.3.1 of that Code as it applies to certain child care centres; and

(b) provide food-handling requirements for those child care centres to which Standard 3.3.1 of the Food Standards Code does not apply; and

(c) define the appropriate enforcement agencies for the purposes of the Food Standards Code; and

(d) prescribe the offences for which infringement notices may be served under the Food Act 2003 and the Food Regulations 2012 and the relevant penalties for those offences; and

(e) rescind the Food Regulations 2003 , the Food Amendment Regulations 2007 , the Food Amendment Regulations 2008 and the Food Amendment Regulations 2009 .
