EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations prescribe a range of matters under and for the Occupational Licensing Act 2005 in its application to electrical work including, in particular –

(a) definitions and classifications for electrical work; and

(b) licensing and insurance requirements for electrical contractors; and

(c) licensing requirements for electrical practitioners; and

(d) qualification requirements for nominated managers; and

(e) licensing procedures and related matters; and

(f) transitional licensing arrangements for cable jointers and lineworkers; and

(g) notification and recording requirements for electrical work; and

(h) restrictions on the commencement and energising of electrical work; and

(i) rectification processes for defective electrical work; and

(j) inspection and rectification powers of authorised officers; and

(k) infringement notice offences, demerit points and other penalties; and

(l) licensing and other fees.
