EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the rule)

These Rules of Court amend the Supreme Court Rules 2000 by –

(a) replacing certain provisions relating to defamation actions and specifying further requirements for pleadings in defamation actions; and

(b) providing for preliminary discovery of documents; and

(c) providing for the use of expert evidence in affidavits; and

(d) further providing for the service of statements of expert evidence; and

(e) making minor miscellaneous and consequential amendments.
