EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Animal (Brands and Movement) Regulations 2003 by providing for –

(a) vendor declarations for movements of cattle, pigs, sheep and goats involving a change of ownership; and

(b) movement records for movements of sheep and goats involving no change of ownership; and

(c) reports to the National Livestock Identification System database for all cattle movements; and

(d) further infringement notice offences and the penalties for those offences; and

(e) the omission of a requirement to attach tail tags to certain cattle.
