EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations –(a) replace the Environment Protection (Noise) Regulations 1977 ; and(b) make provision for regulating the emission of certain noises and in particular for –(i) the operation of motor vehicles in off-street areas near domestic premises; and(ii) the operation of motor vessels near domestic premises; and(iii) the operation of chainsaws near domestic premises; and(iv) the operation of aquatic events, racing events and recreational facilities; and(v) the preparation and issue of the Noise Measurement Procedures Manual.
