EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations amend the Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Regulations 1999 by –(a) prescribing for the purposes of section 58 of the Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Act 1997 –(i) the classes of electrical articles that must comply with a minimum standard of energy efficiency; and(ii) the minimum standard of energy efficiency for those classes; and(b) prescribing for the purposes of section 59 of the Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Act 1997 –(i) the classes of electrical articles that must be labelled to indicate their energy efficiency; and(ii) the form of the label for those classes.
