EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations amend the Racing and Gaming Regulations 1976 by reinstating some previous amendments of those regulations that lapsed on 30 April 2003. The previous amendments, which were contained in Statutory Rules 2002, No. 29, made –(a) provision for the conduct by TOTE Tasmania of betting competitions in respect of computer-generated racing-game races; and(b) revisions consequential on the enactment of the Racing and Gaming Amendment (Gaming Provisions Removal) Act 2001 and TOTE Tasmania Act 2000 .
