These regulations amend the Traffic (Vehicle Loads and Dimensions) Regulations 1975 consequent on the reforms effected by the Vehicle and Traffic Amendment (Vehicle Standards) Act 2001, mainly by rescinding redundant provisions, updating definitions and bringing the provisions that set restrictions on the dimensions of vehicles and their loads into line with the new (nationally consistent) vehicle standards laws.
