Listening Devices Regulations 2014

I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Listening Devices Act 1991 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Listening Devices Regulations 2014 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 24 November 2014.

3.   Interpretation

(1)  In these regulations –
Act means the Listening Devices Act 1991 .
(2)  In these regulations, a reference to a form quoted by a numeral is a reference to the form of that number in Schedule 1 .

4.   Complaint under section 17 of Act

A complaint under section 17 of the Act made to a magistrate for the purpose of obtaining a warrant to authorise the use of a listening device is to be in accordance with Form 1.

5.   Warrant under section 17 of Act

A warrant granted under section 17 of the Act to authorise the use of a listening device is to be in accordance with Form 2.
